Curated frame · Community competition
ΜΝΗΜΗ deploys a fixed, brutal combination of the survival modes, and the community competes to beat it. The frame overrides what the mode would normally decide. Inside it, everything else is directed as usual.
Some frames come from the old exercises:
- The Fourth Survivor. One survivor, one route from beneath the city to a rooftop where a helicopter waits, the same gear for everyone.
- Lone Wolf. An Outbreak scenario, played as one of the eight with none of the others.
- Infinity. Ammunition without end, weapons that never break, and the dead without number.
- Elimination. The rooms of an Outbreak scenario, every creature in them to be put down, and thirty minutes to do it.
- Showdown. The great creatures of the eight's scenarios, one after another, with nothing between them.
Others are her own:
MODE: OUTBREAK
INFECTION: FAST BURN
ELPIS RESERVE: ONE DOSE
MEDICAL SUPPLIES: REDUCED
POWER: OFFLINE
SEALED DISTRICTS: 2
CREATURE ACTIVITY: HIGH
SPECIAL THREAT: WILL BE RELEASEDEndless
Survivor or Outbreak · No fixed end
ΜΝΗΜΗ does not raise the extraction on her own judgment, so the session has no natural end. The virus still runs and Elpis must still be earned, but there is no fixed Reserve: a dose exists for every road finished, and every road is longer than the one before it. With every stretch survived, the dead grow more aggressive. In an Endless Survivor night, Petitions are answered for as long as roads to the cure are still being set. In the Valley, the Plaga stands where the virus stands: the Suppressant Reserve is set anew with every stretch survived, and the Beacon waits for a night in which no living survivor carries a Plaga.
The session ends in one of two ways. Everyone dies, or the survivors force the signal through the Beacon: a final chain she issues only once no living survivor still carries the virus, every one of them cured or never infected at all. Finish it, and the white light rises, and the helicopter that answers it has a seat for every survivor still alive.
